Frequently asked questions

What kind of company is WOOZZA?

An urban flood-response technology company that designs and manufactures smart rain gauges and connects observation data through flood risk analysis to monitoring and alerts.

Can it be used alongside Korea Meteorological Administration data?

Yes. The WOOZZA network is built on the premise of complementary observation that fills gaps alongside public stations and radar data, not a replacement for them.

Which regions is it operating in?

We are running urban flood-response pilots in Gwanak-gu, Seoul and Brooklyn, New York, USA. See the pilots & applications page for details.

Can I get access to observation data?

Data integration can be discussed based on the target points and intended use. The fields provided and the method are confirmed per project.

Does installation require construction work?

When using solar power and wireless communication, rooftop mounting or pole installation is possible without major civil works. A mounting-structure and safety review is still needed.

Do alerts substitute for an official emergency text alert?

No. Authority to issue an official alert rests with each institution; WOOZZA’s alerts are a supporting tool for staff and residents.

Can I get a copy of the catalog or certificates?

Request it through the contact page and we will reply with materials that can be shared.
